 Joe Barrer is a former basketball player and the head coach of Lakeland Magic of the NBA G League. After serving the team as the assistant coach for over four years, Barrer was named the head coach in 2021. He became only the second coach in their franchise’s history.

Barrer had mainly coached the university teams after he switched from high school. After former head coach Stan Heath left the team to join Eastern Michigan, an NCAA Division I team, Joe was immediately promoted to the top position.
